My Hebrew name is Yaakov Eliyahu ben Rachel (Jacob Elijah son of Rachel). There is a lot you can tell about a person based on their name. In Judaism, some people believe it is tradition that you should name your child after the person whose qualities you wish to see in them. While my "birth certifcate" name is Jim C. Perry, I prefer to use my Hebrew name among close friends and family because I feel it is more me.

Obviously, I am Jewish. My husband Amon and I live in Manchester, New Hampshire. He is currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. I own a small business selling flags and flag accessories and attend shul Monday through Shabbat at Temple Israel, a Conservative-Egalitarian synagogue, and on Sunday I attend morning service at the local Chabad Lubavitch Center.
